“Superman Returns” star Brandon Routh is about to return to the DC Universe — but not as the Man of Steel. TV Line reports that Routh has been cast as Ray Palmer/The Atom in the CW’s “Arrow” season three.Described as “an unparalleled scientist and inventor,” the “Arrow”-verse version of Ray Palmer will come into Oliver Queen’s world as the new owner of Queen Consolidated and a possible new love interest for fan-favorite character Felicity Smoak. “Arrow” is The Atom’s live-action debut — though the character has featured in many different animated iterations of the DC Universe.
