Sightseers in New York enjoyed an extra-special view at the weekend as the sun set on the city’s iconic skyline.Twice a year the sun’s descent to the horizon is perfectly framed by the skyscrapers lining the city’s grid-like east-to-west streets, which are lit up by the phenomenon.The celestial vision towards the Hudson River is referred to as “Manhattanhenge”, in tribute to Stonehenge’s standing stones and their ancient alignment to the sun.
