A US schoolboy was arrested by police after he wrote that he had killed his “neighbour’s pet dinosaur” in a school assignment.

School officials in Summerville, South Carolina were alarmed by 16-year-old Alex Stone’s words and called the police.

He had beengiven the assignment by his teacher to create a Facebook-type status report, telling something interesting about himself.

Mr Stone wrote: “I killed my neighbour’s pet dinosaur. I bought the gun to take care of the business.”
