A sinister white mass appears out of nowhere on a picturesque tree-lined river… and gets bigger and bigger until it has formed a wall across the water.It could be something out of a horror film but, instead, this was the scene that greeted walkers beside the Lea in north-east London at the weekend.Piles of foam up to 10ft high poured over the weir at Lea Bridge Road, near Hackney Marsh.
