Haunted Carlisle by Darren Ritson. History Press.

‘…A chilling collection of eyewitness accounts and terrifying tales from in and around Carlisle which is sure to appeal to everyone interested in the supernatural history of the city.’

Another cracking little book from The History Press, Haunted Carlisle delivers exactly what it says on the cover.

Darren’s storytelling is great at the best of times, but in his latest book he adds a certain eeriness by using actual eyewitness accounts. This along with other little details like the use of location photographs and original drawings to illustrate each individual case gives the book a kind of personal feel, as though the author wants to convey unbiased information instead of merely relating folklore and hearsay.

A good read for anyone living in, or planning a visit to Carlisle, or maybe just to while away a rainy Sunday afternoon at home.
