NEW RELEASE! The Witch Misplaced Her Magic

Somewhere, tucked away in a cosy little cottage, lives a witch called Ivy Thistlewick.

Now, Ivy isn’t a particularly frightening witch. She doesn’t spend her evenings cackling over bubbling cauldrons or plotting to turn unsuspecting villagers into frogs. She’s far too busy trying to remember where she put things.

And lately, there’s been rather a lot to remember.

You see, Ivy has a problem.

She’s misplaced her magic.

Not all at once, you understand. That would have been far too straightforward. Instead, things have begun going rather spectacularly wrong, and the simplest little spells are producing some very peculiar results.

It’s all becoming rather inconvenient.

Especially for the hedgehog.

A Little Bit of Magic for Little Readers

The Witch Who Misplaced Her Magic is a whimsical children’s picture book about a rather forgetful little witch whose magical abilities aren’t quite behaving themselves.

Filled with gentle humour, woodland creatures, curious happenings and a generous helping of witchy charm, it’s a story for young readers who enjoy a little enchantment without anything too frightening lurking behind the broom cupboard.

Ivy isn’t your traditional storybook witch. She’s wonderfully imperfect, occasionally muddled, and determined to put things right, even when everything seems to be going wrong.

And that’s part of her charm.

Because sometimes the greatest magic isn’t about getting everything right in the first place.

From My Imagination to the Bookshelf

Ivy has been a particularly lovely little character to bring to life.

As someone who usually spends an alarming amount of time investigating dark folklore, forgotten histories, mysterious happenings and the occasional grisly murder, creating a world of gentle magic and mischievous woodland creatures has been something of a change of pace.

Although, knowing Ivy, I’m not entirely convinced the woodland creatures would agree.

The book has been written and illustrated with plenty of affection, a touch of old-fashioned storybook charm, and the hope that Ivy might become a familiar little friend to children discovering her world for the first time.

And now, after a fair amount of work, a few adventures of my own, and rather less actual witchcraft than I would have liked, she’s finally out in the wild.
