March is a month of change, where winter’s grip weakens, and spring stirs to life. The days stretch a little longer, the air carries a promise of warmth, and the land begins to wake from its slumber. It’s a time of renewal, folklore, and celestial wonders, and as always, Mysterious Times has plenty to explore.

In the skies, the Full Worm Moon arrives on the 3rd, its name a nod to the softening earth and the return of earthworms – once a key sign for early farmers that the growing season was near.

And of course, the spring equinox on the 20th at 2.46pm marks the point where day and night stand in perfect balance before we tip towards the lighter half of the year.

March is rich with history and folklore, and this month we’ll be delving into the stories behind the saints who dominate the calendar.

St David’s Day (1st) sees Wales celebrate its patron with daffodils, leeks, and a nod to his legendary miracles.

St Piran’s Day (5th) honours Cornwall’s beloved saint, often tied to the county’s tin mining heritage.

And of course, St Patrick’s Day (17th) needs little introduction, having grown far beyond its Irish roots into a worldwide festival.

The Ides of March (15th) carry ominous weight thanks to Julius Caesar’s famous assassination – was he truly warned, or is this a tale woven through time? We’ll be exploring the myths surrounding omens, prophecies, and historic betrayals.

Mothering Sunday (15th) also has a long history, once tied to returning to one’s ‘mother church’ before becoming the celebration of mothers we know today.

And don’t forget to set your clocks forward on the 30th as we step into British Summer Time.

In the pages ahead, we’ll be diving into seasonal folklore, looking at superstitions linked to the changing weather – will March come in like a lion and go out like a lamb?

We’ll be investigating ghostly tales tied to spring awakenings, exploring ancient equinox rituals, and uncovering forgotten legends tied to this shifting season.

With the world stirring awake, there’s no better time to step into the strange, the historical, and the unexplained. Stay with us this month as we embrace the mysteries of March.
