It lies between the city of St Albans and the village of Wheathampstead.In daytime it is a place of picnics and kite flying, bouncing dogs and trysting lovers.While not exactly desolate, it has been surrounded for centuries by farmland making it deceptively remote.It’s not a place you’d want to be at night.
